Default check engine light and adaptive settings

If I replaced the air mass sensor on my 1999 E320, how do I reset the CEL , unplug the battery for a while will solve the problem ?

what about the adaptive settings ??, how do you do that, or this must be service by the dealer

THANKS

Default RE: check engine light and adaptive settings

you may try removing the battery if it works.

if the fault is not present, the CEL will come off by itself or after a certain ign on and off. or else, you need to clear the memory by using scanner tool.

it's not really necessary to reset the adaptation value. it will remain inactive for as long as the mixture parameter is within the acceptable range.

the control unit will simply adapt on your driving style from time to time and calculate the right value.
