I have 1999 E320 , It has check engine light on for 2 days checked with dealer told me to properly close the fuel cap , did that still having check engine lights on . Any input ?</P>

I too have the same car. It usually takes a few days to recycle. Good luck.

i am still struggling with check light on a 2000 e320.
have someone scan the obd2 to see what code comes out
if gas cap does not make the light go away. mine happens to be p173(fueltrim malfunction bank 2) which means after check for vaccum leak, the next thing to replace is the mass air flow sensor($200-300)

I had same problem recently with 97 E420... I fixed the problem by replacing the sparks plug and Air Mass Sensor. It is expensive!!!
