Brake Emergency 2006 E350

I had the message that the brake pads needed replacing and they sure did. However after replacing them (I only did the front so far) and loosing fluid, I put everything back together, added mercedes fluid and reconnected the SBC. It pumped but then I get the red flashing Stop Brake malfunction warning. Do I have to bleed them and if so how? If not, any ideas on what I have to do?
Desperate in Florida and forced to drive an old Saturn.

replacing the pads should not have caused you to lose fluid. unless brake fluid pushed out the reservoir which is ok. just keep presing the brake several times and then start up the car and if the light comes back on just keep appling the brakes fully and then turn on the car again. itll go out.

I tried starting, turning off, pumping over and over and opening and closing the door in between, but to no avail. Red warning message still comes on.

I believe you are supposed to disable SBC, and I also believe the only way is with MB Star or similar CAN communication tool.
Here's a link that could explain it to you. I think you'll be visiting a dealer to get this fixed.
