BOZO BOSE

Any suggestions on improving the sound quality of the bose system in 98-99 E class without breaking the bank?
This "premium" system is anything but, and the speakers sound lethargic. Has anyone tried changing just the speakers? Do they work with the Bose-calibrated amp?

Suggestion ==> Get rid of the Bose. It sucks. Replace the whole thing.

You can't change just the speakers. Even $1,000,000 replacement speakers will "work" but they will sound worse than what you have now.
