last night i drove my car and it ran normally. However this morning when i woke up and got in to go get gas and run errands, my vehichle started up and rapidly jumped from 500-2000 rpm's. VERY ODD!!...The ASR and check engine electronics light is on and i have no idea how to fix it because i cannot even drive the car to get it to my mechanic and im currently in school without cash. PLease give any advice availible

could be your mass airflow sensor...(its the sensor right after your air filter housing) when the engine is running disconnect the sensor by unscrewing the cable see if anything changes with engine speed, then screw it back in..and see that change. You might try cleaning it with a light solution (dont use water). you could remove your entire air intake housing and hose and clean that with carb cleaner. Good luck
