Mercedes Work Information System (WIS) and Electronic Parts Catalog (EPC) give only generic (misleading) information from the simple chassis number (W123, W210, etc), the VIN# unlocks accurate technical + parts data.


Helpful information:

How many miles - kilometers are on the vehicle.

What (generic) geographic location - nearest major city population 100,000 or more should be enough.

Climate and weather can be a major factor in diagnosis.
