Advice needed, looking to buy E320 Wagon
Hey everyone!
I have always been an admirer of MB engineering and now I am able to actually join the family! To that end I am looking at buying a '98, '99, or 2000 E320 Wagon. I have read great things about the vehicles but something popped up and I had a question. How hard is it to change the plugs on this vehicle? Also I have read about the FSS and am amazed at the intervals. Can you all help me with anything else I should be on the lookout for when I am buying from some independent dealers or owners?
Any help is always appreciated.
Drew

Go to the W210 wiki (google)for lots of info and data, recall on early harmonic balancers so make sure it was done if that model needed it,spring perches on 98-99,spark plugs every 100000 miles and not hard to do youself, diy over on benzworld.org,,shop around, got ours for $9500 it's a 99 white and runs like a top,do your own maint. and they will run for a long time.If you can do your own repairs and maint,I would get it if i were you,if not you better not mind sky high dealer charges and have deep pockets.Look for a low mile 99-00 inspect it,and buy private, the dealers start their screwing long before you have it serviced the first time.Look around on the other forums for w210 model,mbworld.org and benzworld.org.
Nuf info?

Beauty! I will check those other sites out. Yes I do my own maintenance. I have not graduated to Transmissions but engine work and other stuff that is over the fender is not a problem for me. By the way, what kind of gas do these guys work best on?

Ah,the prime mover, the engine of the world. The question is now, where is J.G.?
Premium fuel only in these high compression babies, they will return 22city/28hway,not bad for 0-60 in under 8, in a 3700 lb wagon that seats 7(our two still at home love it).
have fun
change the tranny fluid and filter, they are really not lifetime fluid.
99 you can drain the converter.
look on crazedlist.org and search all the states around you at one time.
