Default Accelerator pedal force

I recently bought a 95 E320 wagon for my wife. The car is great except for a couple things. The main one is the amount of force required to move the accelerator pedal. Before I start messing around with this, has anyone done a modification to reduce the force required to move the pedal?

I have had a couple of these cars and they all required more than normal pedal force. If the car has traction control, I would suggest not playing with it as the car can kick into limp mode and will need to have the computer reset.

Doesthis car has an drive by wire throttle? If so, you can't touch it. If it has an old return spring like my stiff throttle 87 300E then you might look into a new linkage/spring. Why are these cars so freakin complicated?
