'95 E300D won't start - starter is good
 

I have a '95 E300D. The starter suddenly stopped working the other night. With a remote starter switch I have been able to jump the starter and it works fine. I have also tried in both Park and Neutral, multiple times with no improvement.

There are two other things that might be related. The time before the starter stopped working I noticed a "buzz" or hum coming from under the dash. It is still doing this when the key is in the on position. The other item of note is that twice, on the days leading up to the failure, the starter would make a grinding noise when the key was turned, then when I would try again it would work fine and the car would start. Thanks
