92 300TE A/C Not cool enough
1992 Mercedes 300TE
Recently, the A/C compressor started leaking freon. I bought a new compressor and had it installed by a qualified mechanic. Now, I am only getting around 60 degrees vent temperature. The compressor checks out good, ie, low side pressure at 1200 RPM is 28-36 PSI. High side pressure is 225 PSI. The mechanic says the expansion valve is functioning properly. Before the compressor was replaced, the vent temperature was around 45-50 degrees. (The system has been converted to 134 several years ago) He did NOT replace the dryer - he said there was no need to. He doesn't seem to know what's going on and, of course, neither do I. Please help. |
