i'm new to this forum and i have a few questions about this1973 merc 280Ei'm looking at buying.

the car has a blown head gasket.

1. is itcommon for this tyrpe of motor to have cracks in the cylinder head?
2. how much is a valve regrind kit?
3. how much would it cost to buy a second hand or brand new (if possible)head?
4. how much would this car be worth aprox if in good condition?

edit: also whats the compression ratio on this motor?

any info would be much apreciated.
