280 tranny troubles
 

My 1970 Mercedes 280 SE refuses 3rd gear (it only had 1st untill I removed the vacuum module pin and spring). All data I have read so far suggests a proffesional or a replacement tranny. After 3 fluid flushes, new filter, new module, linkage adjustment (both throttle & gear), I
am seriosly considering the drastic move of Richard Easly's "B 2 Piston inspection &/or replacement" barring any other suggestions.

Frustrated at 25 mph
