2002 e320 O2 sensor help

Hy guys,

My check engine is on, went to get it inspected (to get codes since I have to do it anyway) and car had several codes: random misfire, O2 sensor power error, O2 sensor heat error Bank 2 Sensor 1.

I understand that the sensor 1 is before the cat, so I got the Bosch generic pre-Cat sensor. I feel confident about splicing up to the old harness I just need to know for sure what the physical location of sensor 1 in bank 2 is. Is there a write-up or DIY on this somewhere? who can help?

thanks a mabillion,
benji

RE: 2002 e320 O2 sensor help

Just fought that battle with my 1999 E430.
p0150 p0136 engine misfire Cly 5,6,7, etc.
Bad O2 sensor on driver side in my case caused computer to create Rich condition.
Fouled spark plugs to the point of misfire.
If you have 150K KLM of 100K Mileage. Replace them.
Bank one is driver side bank two is passenger side.
To confirm my memory. Hunt around one of the web pages has details on this.
Search for your error code.

RE: 2002 e320 O2 sensor help

Unless you are driving a right hand model you need to get straight on sides of the engine.Bank 1 is pass side and bank 2 is drivers side.
Your codes were for
P0136 O2 Sensor Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 2)pass side
and
P0150 O2 Sensor Circuit Malfunction (Bank 2 Sensor 1, open circuit before cat) drivers side
his codes are all on one side and indicate a low voltage condition(lean)and misfires only on two cylinders.
