Are you buying this car? Then make sure you are buying it from a licensed dealership. Otherwise, you could be a victim of curbstoning, which is illegal. A curbstoner poses as a private seller to sell vehicles for a large profit. Be sure to buy this vehicle from a licensed dealer.

Please let me know what you think asap.
Ps it also has the problem where the temp numbers display distorted but the air blows cold and the heater blows very warm

RE: 2001 e320 with 40,000 miles should i buy an out of state car
Run,don't walk to the nearest exit!
You are in california, home of the meca for the mercedes used market. This is a dealer lease return over priced by thousands and from a rust state to boot.
Are you paying cash?why are you buying across country(ebay)?
Where are you in Ca.?
get back with the info and I will see what can be located in your area.
Pass on this deal, you would regret it if you took it.

RE: 2001 e320 with 40,000 miles should i buy an out of state car
I have purchased a 2002 E320 Sport and a 2000 C280 Sport from an auction and they have both been great cars. C280 came from South Hampton NY and the E320 came from West Chester PA. I would say pass on the deal if it is a Private Seller but if it at a dealer ask about shipping cost. It sounds like a good deal but low miles doesnt always mean no problems.

Just a different point of view,I buy all my cars private party, inspect them completely and have never had a problem. She is looking at paying 3-4 thousand more then market price before shipping for a lease return.
Just inquired with a seller in her area that sold a beautiful 2002 with under 60k miles last week for mid $13teens .There are more in Ca. at great prices if she wants to deal cash and shop wisely.

no rust issues,no salted roads issues, how much did you pay for your 02 from auction?

Well I hope i got a good deal because i bought it just came back and i love it drives excellent on the freeway no dents or scratches. quite enegine. the dealer i bought the car from had too many cars on the lot so he lowered the price.
