1998 E320 Wagon Advice

Hi folks!

I have a very nice opportunity in front of me. I am being offered a 1998 E320 Wagon w/ 122,500 miles. It has all the books, all the maintenance records, the phone, the umbrella, EVERYTHING, and it has never left the sunny Atlanta GA area. The price is $8.725. I know the issues with the front struts (lean on front bumper, realease, listen for clunk), the strut/shock mounts (check for rust). Any other things that I should look for? I saw awhile back something about the transmissions but I think it was the E420 that the post was about.

Any help or things to look for would be helpful.

I bought a 99 wagon in top condition, california car with less then 100000 miles for 9500 half a year ago,so it is to high for a 98.Who has it,dealer, friend, relative.and can you deal it down?Tops, not from dealer mid 6 if in great shape.

you can't just look for rust on the spring perch you need to peel off the mastic.....
Also make sure the harmonic balancer recall was done if it is that serial number.
