1995 E320, Wagon, E & S switch?
I have the following two question:
1)Near the automatic gear lever there is a switch which have two positions, E & S. Anyone who could tell what are these for. Whenever i take the switch to the S mode the car gets sudden acceleartion.
One of my friends was saying that "S" stands for summer and he was not clear about tha "E"
2) There is a fan attached to the engine. The moment i start the ice cold engine the fan starts rotating. The question is that is this fan is likely to get jammed or gets kicked back at a certain temprature? Well my car heat gauge goes till the the first marking after 80, and still the fan moves in the same speed. Do you think that this fan is having an electric connection with the switch which is mounted on the top of the thermostate. maybe that switch is not working due to which the fan attached to the engine is not engaging
Any help will be highly appreciated
Thanking in advance

Thanks for the info. Will reconfirm to you that the fan is electrical actuated one or viscous clutch.
Shall be greatful if you can also search around as what type of fan MB had given in this model. With the existing fan which is mounted with the engine the heat gauge in the traffic was going uptill 100 or some time slightly more than that, with the AC switched off. The moment we switch on the AC the heat gauge goes, as the two auxiualry fans (Sorry for the spelling mistakes) are switched on with Ac, whereas with out AC these two fans are not coming up and the fan which is mounted with the engine is not kicking back. So now what i have done is that i have changed the switch or you may call plug which is mounted on the thermostate coupling. The prvious one was of 120 degrees and the present installed is of 80-85 degress. It is single pin plug and th eelectrician has taken a direct connection from the fuse box, so now when the temprateure reaches 82 or 85 the exauliary two fans are switched on to their low speed mode. The worst thing is they remain on for a very long time as in my country the mininum temp in this winter is also 30 degrees F.
The question is should i have a two pin plug for the thermostate coupling (90-100) so that i can play up with the original wiring and not this temprorary arrangement which my electrician has made. Do you think if i change this two pin plug it will activate the engine fan in the temp range of 90-100?
Any help / suggestion will be appreciated. I want to keep this car as i love its drive and what not....

WDB1240921F327272 is the VIN No. Shall be greaful if you can tell me about the Fan. I want to fix it as per the MB rules and not like that as mentioned earlier in my mail.
