Default 1991 300E leaking transmission pan gasket

I have a leaking transmission pan gasket after replacing the gasket twice. The second gasket even got coated with permatex and still leaks. Whats the trick or sequence for getting the pan tight without leaks. I have tried various torque settings and still leaking. Thanks for any help.

hi jrous06,

1. are you sure even after twice the pan gasket was faulty ?

2.was the above sections of the oil pan dry?

Have a better look under a four post lift to see the whole under carriage to find out where exactly the leaks comes out.

if it is dry,

3.so have you tired using the original pan gasket ?

but then it could be the oil pan it self having unnoticed damage..

if you found out what the problem share us your info on your mb repairs with us..

good luck!
