1990 300E # 9 fuse
My 1990 300E blows the #9 fuse, (radio, front dome light, clock, comfort circuit relay, vanity mirror), I disconnected the - battery terminal for a few minutes and it seems to have stopped blowing the fuse. Upon reading the electrical section of the "Mercedes-Benz E-Class owner's bible, (Bentley Publishers), I find reference to the #9 fuse blowing due to a short in the front dome light circuit.
Has anyone out there experienced this problem? If so where would the short be?, in the wiring going to the fixture or in the fixture itself? Many may agree with me on not wanting to tear things apart to chase wiring to find a short. Thank you in advance for any ideas you may have.

well for starters disconnecting the battery isnt going to fix any short. you probibly have a consumer shorting to ground is what you do is hook a test light in where the fuse is and when the test light goes out you found your short

I agree 100% ............ however since I disconnected the battery and reconected it I have not had the fuse blow out. The car has been used daily since, approx. one week. I'm a bit (big) baffled. I do know that there are a few electrical mishaps that are corrected by disconnecting the battery for a few minutes....thats why I tried it.
