Default 1986 190e problems...help!

I have a 1986 190e that I love to death, but it's having some emotional problems.....hence the following:

1. Engine overheats at idle - replaced thermostat...could it be a water pump?

2. Had the transmission overhauled a year ago, but still having the "clunk" as my auto transmission shifts into reverse, then it's about all or nothing, engine guns when I lightly touch the pedal, and Im catapulted into space backwards....

3. Power steering seems to be going out - is this possible? I have to crank to pull a hard turn, I have checked and topped off the fluid, and still no help.

4. A/C only works when I have the defrost button pushed in to the left of the fan console. The button with the snowflake has no effect on the a/c. It also intermittently goes idle, I mean stops working, with no warning or reason. When I push the off button and on again, it goes back working....??? WEIRD.

5. This car is in immaculate shape otherwise, inside and out. I love my baby Benz!!

Thanks for any suggestions!

Mollie
