190e sunroof problems
 

i just bought a '93 190e and i'm having problems with the sunroof. the guy i bought it from said something about needing new clips(??). the motor works, the inside panel goes up just not back. i've been looking all over the net and can't find any mention of sunroof clips, does anyone know what he was referring to?

190e 1993 Sunroof won't close
 

My 1993 190e sunroof used to work just fine. I had the smog pump replaced, which had "welded" the serpentine belt to all the pulleys, which meant that the radiator had to come out to clean the pulleys (really glued-on belt tar). All that eventually came back together. When I stared to open the sun roof as TILT, I THINK that it did not want to go up, not really sure. So I slid it back 4-5 inches, and then tried to close it. No luck. I found another switch, plugged that in, the roof would only go back (I did not let it go too far, I am now covering the opening with a high quality black trash bag matches the car).
I am in New Orleans, and I have not found a shop that seems familiar with repairing such a problem.
Any ideas?

Not really any ideas, i seem to be having the exact same problem. but if you do find something that works please inform me. I have a few things i need to work on before this winter other wise i would have already taken it apart. i find it odd that it stopped working without any sign of trouble before.
