05 E320 Mirror gasket
 

As you all who have this body type know the gaskets r junk and fall apart. On the previous body style like 99 back the gasket was available by itself for like $10ea. Know it's not and the only way to get it is to by the whole frame for $400!! $800 for 2 gaskets basically which will be shot in 5years. Any Input?? Also my rubber below the fron windshield in the cowl area is all deteriorated too.

Few days back I took my family car to pick up my friend that lives around seven miles away from me. It was a cold morning approximately 5am. So I cranked up the heater. It took a while to get warm. Long story short, after 15mins. Smoke that smelt like rubber oil came out of the rear view mirror. I instantly turned it off. Don't know what’s the problem?
