Default What to look for in a 2003 CLK

Hello everyone. First time post.

I'm looking into a used car and am interested in the 2003 CLK, probably
a CLK500 or AMG55.

The consumer reports ratings look pretty good but I'd like to know
what specifically to watch out for in this type of car.

Any information appreciated.

Thanks,

Mick

I have a 2003 Clk 500 I bought in 2003 w/17,000 miles at the time . Ill Simply list everything that I can remember repairing .

- Electronic Timing sensor Control on the Crankshaft car wouldn't start in the summer time on exceptionally hot days. part 175.00
- Occasionally the sunroof when opening closing will move a fraction of an inch to open or close .
- Xenon Headlight Replaced Passenger side under warrantee .
- Replaced Motor mounts at around 85k now car has 94k miles .
- Door lock mechanism was replaced around 65k for drivers door .
- Driver / Passenger Electric seat when retracted to let rear passenger out occasionally headrest will raise and seat will be jammed in that position .
- Driver side seat adjustment switch unresponsive at the moment only works off of memory .
- 3rd brake light/ Trunklight cracked 3x and exploded exiting car wash 2x.

Probably a few other things I can't remember at this hr , I love the car though , Very quick , it moves , I changed the suspension to a HR coil overs with Bilstien Pss9 . Dropped the car . I have raced it at Pocono raceway and NJMSP and Monticello .

The negative , It sux in the snow , It is not meant for snow even for a local milk run , The Navigation tests my patience most of the time even with updated cd's

Over all Great Car I have had it for 8 years and I enjoy every time I take it out with my car clubs and its my daily driver .
