spring lowdown

Default spring lowdown
Just bought a 2002 CLK430AMG and am interested in lowering it about an inch. Any suggestions on the best springs? How difficult is changing the springs on this car? Also considering using wheel spacers to widen stance a bit. Has anyone done this and how far can you go? Look forward to this forum great info.
