Smart Key Remote & Top Trim Adj.
Hello Everyone!
Very excited with the 1999 CLK 320 convertible that I bought yesterday for my wife. There are two issues that I need to address and I would welcome some input from the forum.
First - the remote does nothing. When I lock the door using the removeable key, the red light blinks on the dash indicating the security is armed. I just ordered a replacement smart key blank in the hope that the smart key itself is the problem. I'll get it cut and programmed at the dealer once it arrives.
Second - The right, rear window catches a piece of trim when being raised. I assume I just need to figure out what bent/broke and make adjustments.
The car has had one owner and currently has 96968 showing on the odometer. I am planning to do a complete fluid change ( transmission, brake fluid, oil, coolant...) and puta new set of tires on it. Sticky ones, so she does not get squirrely in it.
I have read about some posters having transmission problems, was wondering if that was just random or if these fail around a certain mileage.
Thoughts?
Thank you!
Douglas
