Are there any precautions I must take. What is the procedure? The reason why I'm asking is because I need to remove my front passenger seat to remove the seat cushion to fix a seam, and a friend of mine told me that his coworker had an airbag blow up in his face removing his front seat. Can I get the cusion off without removing the seat?

must remove the seat.

just turn off the ignition switch. this will prevent the airbag to deploy.
