Mercedes clk 320 not starting

Hi, I have a Mercedes clk 320 which won't start. The car was starting in neutral or would start if you played with the shifter a bit in park. However won't start at all now, it runs through the gears fine and selects gears fine. Any ideas?

What year is the CLK? C209?

clk 320 issues

I was driving my car and it just stopped running and it would not start. I had to have it towed to a repair shop. Every time he tried to start the car, it started. He said the problem was the Sam module. The Sam module repair kit is $600. He does not have a scanner to make sure that is in fact the problem. He told me to drive the car and see if it happened again. I made it to my drive way and it stopped running again. I waited about an hour and it started so I was able to park it under the car port. The check engine light came on. That didn't happen before. Any advise..

I would definitely take it to a shop or service dept that can pull the codes. How old is the battery? When trying to start the car, do you have to give it several cracks before it starts or does it start right away?

Yeah, you should really take it to pull those codes. You can try this Sam module, which could be right very likely, but if it's not its the -$600. I will ask a friend of mine working at DSRLeasing as he is pretty much knowledgeable about this car, but may be tough with those codes.
