What is the method to connect an IPod directly to an older Benz without using the FM modulators?

 

You need to get a tape player adapter... you put a tape in the tape player that has a cord that connects to the ipod headphone unit ... and then just set the radio on tape player mode, and just use the ipod as you regularly would.

The cassette will work if your car has a tape player in it, if not, you can connect it using the aux connection in the glove compartment and switching the selection to AUX on your COMAND pad if you have the navigation system. This is what I had to do.
