Newbie here...I have 2003 CLK500. I insert the electronic key and intermittently the key will not turn and power up and start the ignition process. I changed the car battery that didn't fix the intermittent problem. I swapped keys, the problem still persists. Any ideas on what it might be, any suggestions?

try leaving the key in the ignition for a few seconds first before turning. you should hear a click type noise...almost immediatley when putting the key in. if the noise occurs after 2 or 3 seconds. you could need an ignition switch or a steering wheel lock...but could also be something else.
