I have a 2001 CLK 200 Kompressor with electrical issues. The horn and wipers go off on their own sporadically. Any idea where I should start looking?

 

Usually the wipers going on are caused by the combination switch/ wiper switch/turnsignal stalk. its all one unit.
The horn issue, I've seen the airbag itself cause the problem, it has the horn contacts in it. But also if the 2 are related it could be your SCM, Steering column module could be defective.

 

Thanks Chassis 221! I hooked up the vehicle to my computer yesterday and cleared about 12 stored faults in different modules.. So far the "possessed" wiper and horn have not acted up... I hope thats all it took. If the issue comes back I'll take a look at the SCM.

By any chance would anyone have the part number for that?
