Help! Clicking sound from new wheels
I have an '04 CLK320
I was able to put the wheels on tonight. 18x8.5 front, 18x9.5 rear. Pzero Nero Tires 225/40/18 front, 255/35/18 rear.
However i have a minor problem i need your help with.
It seems that on the rear wheels there is a clicking sound. as if something is slapping up agains the tire in rotation. I checked all around and it doesn't seem to be rubbing up agains anything. It clears the breaks, wheel wells and all. It is not a rubbing sound that is consistant. just a tapping (tick...Tick ... Tick)
Also i was trying to figure out the propper tire pressure for the front and the rear?
Thanks for the help

It is really hard to tell because it depends on the new rims that you got. The stock bolts that i had my factory wheels attached with are really too long. The new set i got was about a 1/4 of an inch shorter. The method i used is pretty simple. Take your old rims. Stick the bolt into it and measure the length peaking out from the other side. Then do the same for the new rims. You will notice that the bolts in the new rims are long.
let me know how it goes. i may be able to take some measurements for it if the above doesn't help

I cant seem to figure it out, I tried what you said, I am just not too savy when it comes to these things.... I am having discount tire do the work and they dont do anything custom so its kind of difficult....Thanks I appreciate all your help
Ok, when i get home from work i'll pull one of my bolts out and give you some measurements. all they really have to do is grind them down for you. I did mine since i have a shop grinder (long story)...
I'll reply as soon as i get it all together for you tonight.
