Fuel gauge problem
Sometimes, when I over-fill mine with gasoline, all the way to the top, the sender gets stuck. I have been able to hit the tank with the ball of my hand to free it. It actually states in the owners manual not to overfill the tank.

I knew that I could count on the forum for helping me out on this one! I was driving home the other day and had to slam on my brakes as this oncoming car made a U-Turn right in the middle of a two lane road. All of a sudden as I start to go forward again, the fuel gage stopped working and it looked like I didn't have any gas in the car. Anyone know how much it will cost to get this repaired?
I have a 2005 240 C-Class/4Matic.

What kind of gas are you using? I had the problem for a long time and read somewhere to put in a bottle of Techron fuel system cleaner, and then use Chevron Techron gas on a semi regular basis...I haven't had the problem since! Yes, really. Also, as it says in the manual, on the gas cap, and mentioned by BlueSilver -Do NOT overfill.
