Default Floridians PLEASE ASSIST URGENT!!!

I just bought a 2000 CLK430 in Winter Parks, Florida and I am located in Germany. I was going to fly into the states to inspect the car on Sunday 21st and drive the car on Monday22nd May 06 but if somoene lives close enough I would like to pay someone knowledgable to do this for me and same me some money on the flight, hotel and car rental.

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE ASSIST, if not then I will fly in and take a look at the car and waste money that could have gone into a body kit or rims. If I do end up flying can someone tell me what I need to look for?

Thanks

LMAO Well that part I knew, I meant as far as the car goes. You know like normal parts that break or wear out sooner than normal. I am new to this car and just need advice on what to look for besides the normal tire/paint job/ interior and does the car start stuff.

you may drive it for a couple of minutes, and see that everything inside the cockpit works well. observe shift patterns. feel acceleration power. release steering wheel and see if it drifts.

lift the car and look for leaks and tell tales of previous repairs, bent suspension links, or any damage.

underhood, see if engine shakes, noise, leaks, etc.

Thanks you all for the help offered. Late last night I made the decision to go ahead and fly in and drive the car myself. Sleepwalker, I will do all the things you said. The only thing I see so far in the pictures is that the steering wheel is worn out pretty good. This will have to be the very first immediate upgrade to the car followed by the new grill and flat emblem.

I will keep you guys posted if interested, this will be my first mercedes and sports car. I have always owned big SUV's so hopefully its a badass experience!!

Consider the leather wrap steering wheel cover offered in many colors by most after-market catalogs and on-line.....it's a $50 option to at $695 wood/leather replacement wheel that the dealer would charge $130 to install.

I am looking at the birds eye maple with leather combination steering wheel. I will just have to wait a couple more months to get it. It is 700 dollars but I rather spend the money and make it look really bad ***. I am by no means rich but I have a beer mans pocket and a wine mans taste!!
