Default CLK 350 2007 audio not working

So I turned on my car and then turned on the radio. The radio goes to the radio station and doesn't play music. So I turn up the dial for the volume and still, nothing is playing. I hit the mute button and the little mute symbol comes up. I turn the volume dial again, the mute symbol goes away (showing that the dial works) but still, no music. The volume, the radio and the speakers worked just fine the last time I used my car. Any ideas on what it could be and how I could fix?

If your car has a cd changer, you might want to check the connections. The optical cable (orange) sends and receive signals to the head unit (receiver). If the head unit does not sense that the cd changer is not connected, the system will go mute. Let me know how that goes. The orange cable is plugged in the back of the cd changer. The other connector is for the 12+ V that powers the Changer.

Good luck,
