CLK 320 - 2002: ready to buy one.
As stated in the title, I plan to buy a MB CLK 320, it's a 2002 with 57000 miles, could you tell what I should check and what do you think about this model, in term of reliability, any input is welcome.
Thank you
Frederic

I think you should get a younger car, unless you are a mechanic.
I think a CLK is pretty well spent at 70k miles.
Last year mine cost me approx $12,000 in nuisance repairs, diagnostics, and little $500. plastic FI parts. It runs great, but now that the paint is failing, I wonder if I should have used the money on another car.....I mean I keep it in an air conditioned garage, but once they get four years on them, they are pretty much ready for recycling or restoration. I chose restoration.

I just bought a 2002 CLK 320 47,000 miles. The first week it started to make an exhaust noise. I took it to the M-Benz dealership and they changed the faulty cat. converters under MB warranty. My time/temp display is not working properly (I bought it like that). But besides that it drives well and I still love it. Hopefully I have many more miles and years before I start to have some of the problems I'm reading about.
