CLK 240 Brake Failure
I have a CLK 240 2004 model with 55,000 miles on the clock. It is regularly serviced at a Mercedes dealer.
Yesterday, the brakes failed. The car was brought to a complete stop and then driven a very short distance forward to allow it to be manouevered into a parking spot. On moving forward, the brakes failed to operate; there was no pressure under the pedal and the vehicle's speed increased. The vehicle collided with my hedge! OW! The only way to stop the revving engine was to turn the engine off whereafter the brakes appeared to be working correctly. We are certain the brakes were applied because brake marks were left on the drivedemonstrating thatthe front wheels were locked but it appears there was still drive to the rear wheels.
Can anyone tell me what went wrong?
Many thanks
Sophia
