Does anyone know approx.how much a catalytic converter repair or replacement should cost on a '99 CLK320??? It just started rattling around down there about 2 weeks ago..

 

How many miles does this car have? The EPA requires that the "cats" are covered up to 80K! This is a known problem with them and they...there are two, cost about $1800 retail to replace and can be found for as little as half that in the aftermarket and will work just fine. The rattling noise is annoying but does not mean that the car will fail an emission test. Good luck. Bob

it passed emmissions for november n does not have to again until 11-13...so if i dont replace other than the annoying rattleing its not dangerous?
