2007 CLK 550 fuel pump question
Good day gents,
I won't go into detail, it's a long story. Essentially, my CLK 550 was left running until it ran out of fuel, and the key remained in the on position for several hours after. When I was able to get a few gallons of fuel into the tank, it turns over just fine but will not start. Not even a sputter. I wonder if maybe the fuel pump continued to run, but couldn't build pressure due to lack of fuel, and burned up? The fuel pump relay and fuse are still good. Unfortunately, I'm short on funds, and need to get it running ASAP. Any input would be appreciated. I've searched google for several hours and haven't found any possible problems other than burned out fuel pump. |
Are you able to pull the codes off the DME? This may give you a good place to start - without knowing specifics, a burned up fuel pump doesn't sound unrealistic.
