2006 CLK 500 HID FOG LIGHT UPGRADE
 

HI! I just upgraded my factory fog lights to 8000K HID FOG LIGHTS. At times the lights do not function correctly and flicker a lot. Here's the deal: if i turn on the foglights THEN start the car, they usually work pretty well. If I start the car THEN turn on the fog lights, they tend to flicker a lot, and since I have cornering fog lights the direction I turn will affect which fog light will flicker more. I went to the dealer and had them disable the cornering fog light feature however they still flicker somewhat. From what I observed, they work better at night then when there is light. Any suggestions as to how I can fix this flickering???

got dynamic cornering lamp? i thought it only applies to the headlamp. anyway, i haven't driven that model at night yet.

both of the fog lamps flicker? if both, then it can be low voltage supply from front SAM. SAM controls the voltage and current... and if the new HID consumes more, then under voltage could occur. try measuring the voltage when the problem is present.

if only one foglamp flickers, then it could be the ballast/ignition unit for HID.
