2000 CLK430 Oil Change
 

Hello Everyone,

Im gonna finally do an oil change myself. Can someone tell me what type of oil to use and how many quarts? I heard it is mobile 1 and it is 0W40 and about 8 quarts. It this correct?

Is it hard to drain the oil or remove the filter?

i am in the same boat. is there a write up on oil change? i am having the hardest time taking the oil filter out. there's a black plastic thing covering the filter, how does this come out?

Use mobil 1 and 8 quarts......The black thing unscrews....Usually use a special tool to unscrew it...Im sure you can use an oil filter wrench.....Just have to unbolt the under belly cover of the engine... They are 8mm screws.....Then just remove the drain plug (13mm)....make sure you use MBZ filters...Dont be cheap and buy the paper filters....They become brittle and break..
