2000 CLK 320 left headlight out
The left inner headlamp does not turn on. Filiment continuety IS good, there is no voltage at the plug. Just to be sure I switched the bulbs between the left and right lights and the problem remained the same. Definitly a problem with the wiring or control circuit. Any help is appreciated. John
An update: below the lamp socket is a device that has two wires connected to it. A brown wire goes from it to the lamp socket. the other wire is grey. I can measure 12V between the grey wire and ground but the brown wire has 0V. I think whatever the device is It prevents power to get to the lamp. I tried to remove the device but I can't get it out. Two questions: 1) what is this thing? 2) how do I get it replaced?
