130mph limiter

I understand on the 430clk (2002) there is a limiter at 130mph, anyone know how to get around this? Will a reprogram resolve this "issue", hey a ford F150 lightning can do 145 [:@]

RE: 130mph limiter

Hello,

I own a 2000 CLK430. I hit 140 MPH....................I guess there is no governer. I was surprised because in all of the tests i have seen, and from Mercedes, they all say it is limited to 130. Not sure about the 2002 though.[&:]

RE: 130mph limiter

yea...i've been 140 in a 2001 CLK 430 (on an empty interstate @ 4AM on way to an airport) and it felt like it had more...is was SO smooth- only way to tell the speed was the white center lines flashing under the hood....btw both the analog speedometer and the digital readout on the computer read 140.

RE: 130mph limiter

The limiter doesn't always work. I've went over 140mph a couple of times, but usually the car won't accelerate when it hits 130mph.
There are computer chips from various Mercedes tuners such as Carlsson, BRabus, and Kleemann. But before doing anything crazy, make sure the brakes are upgraded. And make sure you won't brign trouble for anyone except for yourself.
