rear suspension noise

My car has a realy bad rattle and clunking sound at the back right of my car. I had the springs replaced on the rear of my car some time ago and the rattle started later. My husband looked under the car and saw the bottom of the springs were mounted on some metal and rubber caps and seemed ok, but wasnt sure whether the top of the springs and what they placed inwere in order. What are the rear springs mounted into and is this the problem?

RE: rear suspension noise

Hi, my wife has a 2000 A160 and after having had the rear coil spirngs replaced the noise was still apparent - it is the location bolts for the rear trailing arms. Theypivot forward of the rear wheels and are subject to wear. It would be worth havign the rear brake hose checked at the same time as this has to be removed (I believe) before the bolts can be replaced (wear is due to the rubber or poly sleeving/bush that they sit in, wearing out.

I have an 02 E320 4matic wagon with self leveling shocks. Does anyone know how to bleed the system after replacing the rear shocks?
