Class A: Hot brakes
Hello all
is it normal that a new cars brakes heat up considerably due to to a wear-in period for new components.
I'm driving a diesel A-180, approaching 1000km. Under normal intermittent braking coming off a motorway (where no braking) and into residencial area (perhaps after gradual braking on 4 occasions to a stop from say 50 to 0) I parked and heard a metallic heating sound and the disks were hot to touch (but not red hot) with a smell of burning.
wondering if I need to get it checked out.
can this have an impact on tyre wear either directly or indirectly?
thanks in advance for some pointers.
