has anyone had this problem ....
A-class w168 52 reg A210 auto

stuck in 1st gear will not change up ESP & engine management warning lights on plus gear indicator gone off loud clunk when put it drive or reverse ,

 

This reply is probably too late, but sounds like the engine and garbox are in limp home mode....don't drive the car, get someone to look at it asap. You dont want to be in the car, and it stop in the road etc, and someone career into the back of you or you damage the engine!

I too have the same problem with identical symptoms. I was driving my 2003 A210 two days ago, everything seemed normal till I stopped in traffic. The car refused to change up gear with the engine management and EPS/BAS lights staying on. The display showing current gear selection on the instrument panel also vanished. Did you manage to solve the problem? How did you you go about it. I would greatly appreciate any help with is matter ....thanks

 

I too have suffered the limp mode with W168 (2003 model).
I've had ECU testing try to rectify without luck!.

anyone has any info on how to resolve this pb ?
