my automatic trunk on my cl500 only opens half way up, any suggestions?

 

you need to get the trunk lid normalized at the dealer.. this usually happens when you replace a battery or the battery gooes dead.. you have the power open and closing trunk lid option on that car and it just needs to be syncronized at a dealer.

 

I must have gotten lucky. Mine only opened half way lone day, and thinking that something was in the way of the mechanism, I rearranged things in the trunk with it half open, then put light upward pressure on it and it went to the top. Then I pushed the close button and it closed properly. I tried opening it again and it worked perfectly.

Just put some wd40 into all the moving parts, closed and reopened bunch of time and its back to normal.

 

THere is a setting in the dash that controlls if it does a full open or partial. Check that settings. I have that on my 2006 CL500.
