Problems starting a w140 (c140) '99 CL500
Hey all. So yes, this is the last of the w140 coupes, produced in late summer of '98 and sold as a '99 model. The car has been sitting for over 10 years. The last 9 years in my parent's garage, prior to that a couple of years at various dealer's lots, as back then I was trying to sell it and couldn't get any decent money for it. So, moving on, the first culprit in my problems starting it was the fuel pump, which went bad over the years. So the next issue is the car draining the battery even and ignition is off and the car unlocked, security system therefore off. I decided to pull a bunch of fuses to see which one would cause the car to stop draining the battery. Results were inconclusive, but it kinda seemed like it was the security system afterall. Then I decided to start the car, and the car wouldn't start. I've put all the fuses back in, like they were. No, I didn't mix them up. The car wouldn't start again, and there was a message on the dash - START ERROR. Any ideas what's going on there or how I should procceed from hence forth?
Thanks all.
Thanks all.
