Is there a special lubricant for the cup holder on a CL500 (2002). The cup holder is a very ingenius, intricate design; but it seems to stick when it's extending. It's supposed to extend up automatically, and open. Minebinds on the way up, and I have to pull it out to completion manually. I tried spraying WD-40 on the guides, but that seemed to make it worse.

where is the cup holder... is it in front of the center stoage compartment, cause i cant seem to get that open

 

It's the square door just at the lower front of the center console. Push in the top and it should open the door, and the cup holder will pop up when you push it's chrome button.

 

Darn mine is stuck. I’ve tried everything short of prying it open. Not planning doing that just yet... Is there a latch that can be used to release the damn thing?
