To buy, or NOT to buy?

Hello everyone. I am a long time mercedes owner (Owned 4 over the last 8 years) and presently have a clk320. I have always gravitated towards smaller sportier versions of MB cars because no wife and kids and current occupational liberties. However recently i have come to the conclusion i need something bigger, to both escort clients in and room for luggage, long road travels etc. Seeing that i almost never drive 4 doors, the CL came to mind. Anyway i will get to the point. Recently a friend of mine has offered me his 2002 CL 500, which is in immaculate shape for 25000.00 usd. it only has 35k on it, every option imaginable (push button start/keyless go, heated/cooled seats, navi, power close trunk etc.) all of this, plus the fact he just put new tires on his 19 inch Brabus alloy wheels. Clearly the price for what it is has no debate needed, its a very reasonable deal for a well maintened and optioned car. My question is two things.

1. SInce where i live doesnt allow for more than 1 car, am i going to be underwhelmed in short time about the lack of sporty or fun nature of this car and not having a "weekender" so to speak? Or is this thing as fun to drive personally as it is easy and luxurious for work and daily life?

2. I have read a lot of these posts, about stuck gear shifters, abc systems constantly not working, etc etc. Is this just a handful of people out of total ownership or is this car a technological nightmare that will only serve as a lawn ornament as a 7 year old car, and i should stick with my CLK? (Which has been flawless since new.)

Any unbiased advice is appreciated. Thanks!

RE: To buy, or NOT to buy?

Personally I would keep the CLK. If it works dont try and fix it. Even thoue the CL is my favorite Mercedes and maybe someday if my wife loves me she will let me get one:D. I would hold on to the CLK. What year is the CLK? How many miles? If it has been good I would run it for a while.

2004....73k miles. Runs like a top, never one problem, but still getting up there. And only two years newer. Keep in mind i wouldnt be thinking of changing unless i saw a lot of benefit personally from the vehicle size and accessability.
