Windows up/down with smart key.

My smart key has to be held pretty much right on top of the door handle sensor to work.
I was told by my MB service department that this was normal. Is this true ? I can open
my windows on my Nissan 350z from almost inside my house.

benz does that so the windows dont open and close without you knowing it.. remember benz is all about safety.. just like if you unlock your car with the remote but never open the door the doors will relock after a minute or so.. for safety of your car.

Yes you need to be very close to the car for it to work. I ask the dealer the same question.
