No, I'm being cynical. These issues are NEVER solved with contact cleaner, electronics cleaner or other home remedies. A DIY today needs a quality scan tool or you are lost at sea.

I hope this doesn't jinx it but it has been fine for a while now.
I cleaned the key fob socket with an earbud and alcohol.
Maybe next time I will squirt some contact cleaner in.
